) Networking Social! Make new connections and reconnect with familiar ones.So come out, eat some FREE appetizers, bring your business cards, or just bring an open mind. This social event is open to ALL friends and allies.

Sorry, 21+ event, and please bring your ID, and if you come before 10pm there is NO cover. If you’re undocumented, please contact Binh Le (one of the hosts) to see what can be done. This venue IS handicap accessible.Dancing starts at 10pm. 😉

Fall is Here! Let’s celebrate with Indian brunch buffet at India Pavilion at Central square.

Brainstorm potlucks, movie night, chat-n-chai, to get us through the long New England winter.

Let’s plan and organize a Fundraising for DesiQ 2013 that will be held in San Francisco – July 4th to 6th, 2013. Let’s get our resources together to contribute towards the success of DesiQ.

Announcing the Launch of DeQH! a Desi lgbtQ Helpline

On National Coming Out Day, Thursday, October 11th, 2012, a coalition of South Asian lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) organizations and individuals in the U.S. will launch DeQH, the first South Asian LGBTQ national helpline. DeQH offers free, confidential, culturally sensitive peer support, information and resources by telephone for LGBTQ South Asian individuals, families and friends around the globe. The intent is to provide a safe and supportive ear for callers to share their concerns, questions, struggles or hopes through conversations with trained LGBTQ South Asian Peer Support Volunteers.

 Callers can reach the helpline at (908) FOR-DEQH (908-367-3374)  8pm-10pm on Thursdays and Sundays, Eastern Standard Time [5-7pm PST].  Days and times will expand over time.

DeQH is a collaboration of South Asian LGBTQ groups and individuals around the nation including AQUA North Carolina, Hotpot! in Philadelphia, SALGA NYC, Satrang in LA, and Trikone San Francisco. Please contact us if your group is interested in joining our effort, and/or if you are interested in becoming a general volunteer or would like to be trained as a peer support volunteer.

 DeQH operates with support from NQAPIA. Trikone is a fiscal sponsor of DeQH.

Please join MASALA for Northeastern University Pride Carnival

The fair will be taking place on campus in the Snell Library Quad (adjacent to the Curry Student Center) on October 4, 2012 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. We will have our own space, giving out candy and promoting our future events.

MASALA invites MASALAN’s specially South Asian LGBTQ students on Sunday, September 23, 2012, 4-7pm, (near Central Square).

 Undergraduate and graduate students from colleges across New England are welcome to attend.

There will be samosas, lassi and great conversation!

QAPA is proud to bring the “Wall of Pride” to Boston. API Family Pride is a San Francisco based organization which honors Asian families from across the United States who “courageously defied their community’s homophobia, risked isolation, and supported their LGBT children thereby reclaiming the strong family ties and proud sense of interdependence characteristic of API families.”http://www.apifamilypride.org/programs/wall-of-pride

The Wall of Pride will be on display in the common space of The Meeting Point from August 29th through September 7th. Please join us for a small reception with the founders of API Family Pride on the evening of Friday, September 7th.

Parents and youth are strongly encouraged to attend.
